I was wondering if there is a special diet for this or foods to avoid,I basically been surviving on ensure, yogurt, soup and crackers,I try to work more solid food back for proper balanced diet but afraid it will trigger worsening symptoms.I do have 2-3 coffee a day,and I do smoke, time for those habits to go eh?
Dr prescribed me asacol but I hestitate to take it not knowing for sure if this is colitis, after reading side effects of asacol,I hate taking pills and med's I usually have bad side effects.Has anyone else been on it and it work or help colitis go into remission? I relize not much can be done for the pain as it has to run its course, but this stuff is awful! is it also normal to have constant loud rumbling stomach and bowel sounds with this? never had that problem before,it is more annoying than anything,so loud keeps me awake at night, any advice be appreciated (:ty
I took Asacol a couple of different times for intestinal flare ups (not UC or Crohn's). I was given Asacol (which I considered a Godsend along with an antibiotic for the intestines..Flagyl I think)and it worked wonders. I couldn't be far from a bathroom and lived on Immodium AD....I'm sure you know the drill. I felt soooo much better on the Asacol and I have a bottle of back-up pills just in case I have another flare up. I hope this helps some.
Best of luck
