Well I have an Mirena could that be the IUD the mentioned. I haven't been able to feel the strings lately. Also a couple days ago I started getting sharp pain in my lower neck upper back region. I is excrutiating. Could that be from the lower back problems?

Hello,

One thing that I forgot to mention is that in the note that you have sent to me,there is mentioning of IUD (intrauterine death) of fetus which had its convexity of the back towards your left side. Are you pregnant by any chance?what about your periods?

If you are pregnant, then IUD should be tackled immediately as it is an emergency.Pls consult a gynecologist immediately if that is the case.
Hope it helps.Kind regards.

Hello,
Thanks for keeping me updated.

The MRI report is giving a clear cut diagnosis for your symptoms. Scoliosis is a side-to-side curvature of the spine.Levo means to the left.So there is curvature of the spine to the left side at L4-L5 level. This scolisis is most probably due to degeneration of the disc in between L4 and L5.You see, there is an intervertebral disc between two vertebrae which acts as cushion and prevents the two hard bony vertebrae from friction rub.In your case, there is disc degeneration between these two vertebrae which is thus resulting in scoliosis and also the buldge to the left which is causing compreesion of the nerve root of L4 and hence severe shooting pain throught lower back and left limb pain and pin and ***** sensations.

In L5 and S1 there is mild bulge of the intervertebral disc and facet hypertrophy(means bone growth at the edge of the vertebrae).Due to this bone growth, the neural foramina (through which the nerves pass and which are lying on side of the facets),are getting narrowed which is putting a compression on the nerves and hence these symptoms.
So all your symptoms are due to disc degeneration disease and compression of the nerves.I feel that you should consult a neurologist and an orthopedician both and discuss this with them.

I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.Warm regards.

thank you for reading my post maybe you can help me understand my MRI and X-ray(I left some stuff out because I know they mean normal)Do you know my treatment options? Also my mom has MS, and you said something bout the pins & needle feeling it mentioned MS is it hereditary and should I be concerned? .......

MRI>>>findings:there is a significant levoscoliosis deformity centered at the L4-L5 level

1.there is evidence of disc degeneration and loss of disc height predominatlyinvolving the L4-L5 disc.
2.L4-L5: there is asymmetric disc bulge to left which contacting the exiting left L4 nerve root.
3.L5-S1 there is a broad-based diffuse disc bulge as well as some facet hypertrophy causing mild to moderate narrowing of the left and mild narrowing of the right neural foramen.
Impression:Significant scoliotic deformityat the L4-L5 level as described above.
Asymmetric disc bulge to the left at the L4-L5 which may be contacting the exiting left L-4 nerve root. Please correlate with left L4 radiculopathy.

Diffuse disc bulge at the L5-S1 level causing mild to moderate narrowing of the neural foramina bilaterally.

X-ray>>>examination of the lumbosacral spine in multiple projections showed considerable deformity of the L-4 and hemivertebra at the level of L4 is noted. There is also mild deformity of the body of the L5. Mild scoliosis is suspected in the lower lumbar spine with covexity toward the left. There is narrowing of the intervertebral space between L3-L4 and L4-L5. IUD is noted

Hello,

Thanks for writing and giving a clear view of your symptoms.

First of all about the pin ***** sensations through out the body. Such symptoms are common in alcoholics and metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidismThey can also be due to peripheral vascular disease, vitamin B12 deficiency or malnutrition.

Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the symptoms are gone or not.

In case the symptoms persist then pls consult a neurologist as it can be due to some neurological disorder. Common disorders causing such symptoms are transient ischemic attack, motor neurone disease, or autoimmune disorders like multiple sclerosis or lupus erythematosus. A diagnostic evaluation by a doctor is necessary to rule these out.

Now concerning the neck ppain,I think that it can be due to cervical spondolysis. It is almost impossible for a layman who is not familiar with medical terms to read a MRI.I think that you should get it read from a radiologist or if possible you can write in the report to us so that we can help you in interpreting it.
I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
