unknown spells

I was in a car wreck 5 years ago which i suffered a severe concussion to the right front of my forehead. Which was right on top of another head injury i had as a little kid. A year later i started having symptoms. My vision would be like i walked inside from a sunny day into a dark room, then my arms.go numb and my fingers curl up, also start losing my speech and then I blank out for 5 to 10 minutes. I am aware of things when i blank out and when i come to i am extremely tired and it takes me awhile to get my speech back. I have these two to three times a month. I have been through so many doctors that it it is so frustrating. All of my mri, EEG, and video EEG have came back normal. I when to the mayo  clinic for two weeks and all they could diagnos is that i have spells and that they have thousands of pacients a year that have different symptoms that are not epilepsy and they have no idea what they are. Has anyone else had something similar happen to them. I am running out of options?

You could have a disorder which I suffer from called POTS syndrome which is a syncope syndrome or fainting. Many things can happen I have a severed form that causes micro siezures but you should check into it. The diagnostic method is a tilt table test and they have the EEG EKG that they can do but it won't usually show. Best wishes

Hey copperpenny5,
Welcome to the forum.
This is not an area of expertise for me, but I developed a direct interest
in this after my mother was involved in a horrific accident caused by a drunk driver about the same time as your accident.
It is indeed a perplexing situation. Stemming from your car accident 5
years ago you suffered Traumatic Brain Injury.
"Diffuse Axonal Injury" is likely your primary condition.
Possibility for  Secondary are Non-Epileptic Paroxysmal Aphasia or other Aphasia sub-type and ICP causing  Blown Pupil.
DAI is sometimes difficult to detect with standard testing, as CT scans and MRIs can often miss it.
There are no known treatments, however, the following offer some promise:
Polyethylene Glycol- ref. Journal of Neuroscience. 21 (6): 1923–1930,
Neuroplasticity- ref. Norman Doidge "The Brain that Changes Itself")
Novavision-  http://www.novavision.com/index.php?gclid=CJ7FnoeqhJYCFQWlQAodJ0kXFw
Please do your own research as I'm not endorsing any of the above.
There are holistic therapies that I use for  symptom management and improvement.
If interested pm me directly.
Wishing you well.
