unknown stomache bloating

I am 21 yr. old female 5' wt. about 118 . My stomache is always bloated and my weight keeps fluksuating and i cant seem to get below 119 lbs . i also cant eat any dairy ,spicy ,or fried foods cuz my stomache starts to hurt for days . I have had this since my brain surgery (scar) summer of 2003 . I used to have acid reflux also . Please write back and let me know something i feel and look like i am pregnant

IT might be IBS. Irritable Bowl syndrome.  Do you have alot of stress in your life?  Also are you constipated or have diarea (diarrhea)?

A large percentage of the population is/will become lactose intolerant to some degree during their lifetime.  "Eating no dairy" is no guarantee that you are eating no dairy.  What I mean is many foods have lactose-containing ingredients.  Try taking an OTC lactase enzyme supplement.  There are new products that you can take once a day that work beautifully.

Hi,

Bloating is any abnormal general swelling, or increase in diameter of the abdominal area. As a symptom, the patient feels a full and tight abdomen, which may cause abdominal pain sometimes accompanied by borborygmus.

Common causes for abdominal bloating are:

    * Overeating (gastric distension)
    * Lactose intolerance, fructose intolerance and other food intolerances
    * Food allergy
    * Aerophagia (air swallowing, a nervous habit)
    * Irritable bowel syndrome
The symptom of bloating can be well managed through dietary changes that prevent the over-reaction of the gastrocolic reflex. Having soluble fiber foods and supplements, substituting dairy with soy or rice products, being careful with fresh fruits and vegetables that are high in insoluble fiber, and eating regular small amounts can all help to lessen the symptoms. Foods and beverages to be avoided or minimized include red meat, oily, fatty and fried products, dairy (even when there is no lactose intolerance), solid chocolate, coffee (regular and decaffeinated), alcohol, carbonated beverages, especially those also containing sorbitol, and artificial sweeteners.
