upper right quadrant pain

I am a 41 year old woman. Have had my gall bladder removed, but the doctor said it was healthy when he examined it. Have had octreotide, hitascan, upper and lower gi, ultrasounds, cat scans, x-rays and mri's, all kinds of unusual blood work, everything my doctor could come up with. We are both at the end of our ropes! I have a constant, mild burning pain in my right side, halfway down the ribcage. The pain worsens when that small area makes me nauseous after bowel movements and remains sore for hours, even days. I was having bleeding with bowel movements, but the dr. gave me erythromycin to see if it would help my stomach empty faster. It stopped the bleeding, but the side effects of the medicine made me feel terrible! I do have a recurring low-grade fever of 99.1-100.0 and I feel achy all over. I have even gone to a Sphincter of Odi specialist who told me this was IBS. I take fiber and have no irregularities other than the bleeding. I have frequent headaches, all my joints ache, and I am very depressed. I am now taking effexor but I think it is making the headaches worse. I have also been told that I have Fibromyalgia, but I have no tender points and I do sleep well. I am a single mom and my 1st grader needs me to play and be happy. It is very difficult to live with this constant pain, especially when it prevents me from being at my best with her. She deserves only my best.
Please offer any help you can. I feel that there is something the doctors are over looking. This has been going on for over 3 years now.
Thank you.

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
Yes, IBS is a possibility. Only adding fiber to the diet does not help some people. Keep a stress diary and note what you eat everyday. Then mark the time when you had maximum problem. See what you ate prior to that. You could be having food allergies like gluten allergy, lactose allergy or allergy to citrus fruits etc. Has all this been looked into?
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
