I just started taking concerta 3 months ago and since then I have had a constant uti. Somedays it doesn't cause any pain and some days it does. I have been on 3 rounds of antibiotics during this time. I didn't make the connection between the two. I was very concerned and annoyed so I made an appointment with my docter to rule out any infections, he said that although it is not "official" he has had many patients that were taking concerta that got recurring UTI's. he also said the same for straterra. I was switched to adderall (adderrall) and since then I have not had a UTI. I would definitily look into that!
Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
The tingling in the groin area can indeed be the side effect of medications you are taking. If at all there is an infection, you need to stop taking an antibiotic for at least 7 days and get a culture sensitivity done. This will tell you which bacteria is causing the infection and which antibiotic will act against it.
The other possibilities are PID or pelvic inflammatory disease, compression of spinal nerves or due to pudendal neuralgia as an initiating symptom. Menopause and hormonal changes too can cause similar symptoms.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
