what could this be?

my bf has had a headache for the last 2 days...

details: male 28, previous history of migranes but over 10 years ago. regular anxiety attacks.

thursday, about 8pm he started complaining of difficult seeing out of left eye. and slight headache. by 10pm he had severe headache. by 12 he was vommiting. than went to sleep.

friday, was somewhat ok. went to work. by night time started to complain of a headache again(not as bad) and left eye blurriness.

saturday, headache all through the day. got worse by night. still blurry vision left eye.

sunday, woke up middle of night no headache. but than around 10 am again severe headache, blurred vision. took a bath, seemed to help, now 1pm slight headache.

overall says hes dying. (he also has very small tolerance for pain and every thing is deadly and severe. )

okey does anyone have any idea is this a regular migraine? should i take him to ER?

how long do migraines last?

what can realive a headache?

thanx to all!!

Its great the headaches went away. but loss of vision is not normal and it could be a sign of a ministroke which is what happens.  You can get severe headaches with vision loss than all of a sudden syptoms disappear than come back again stronger.  Please this happened to a family memeber they kept having ministrokes than months later a major stroke.  I dont mean to scare you but if looked into right away and something is discovered it is treatable and taken care of.  Please have your boyfreiend checked out  the sooner the better.  good luck.

Sure, could be a reaction to something he ate, could be a migraine, it could have been a small stroke that thankfully didn't cause too much damage, or an aneurysm that could lead to a serious stroke later.

I know it's easy to say this in hindsight but next time he gets headaches, partial blindness in one eye and vomiting, it's time to head to the ER.  Let them tell you it's nothing.

thanks to all.

hes headaches went away. hes totally fine now. full appetite and arguing. just like every day.

he said it was 70% vision lost out left eye. like he could only see from a corner of his eye.

but that also went away.

he noticed that for the last 4 days hes been drinkin water and adding sugar less iced tea powder to it. iced tea had splenda in it. today he stoped drinkin it. and had regular tea with normal sugar. and headaches went away.

i wonder if that has anythin to do with it?

regardless, im goin to make him see his doctor this week.

thanks to everyone.

I've had migraines and his symptoms do not sound like a migraine.  His symptoms could be vascular and, if so, would need to be treated immediately.  Please go to the ER!

I agree with alchris.  Sounds like something you want to get checked out.

I don't think blurry vision is a typical symptom of migraines,  unless he's not describing it right.

Big black patches in the vision,  or loss of peripheral vision,  or Picasso - like distortions are typical of migraines.  Is his vision like,  looking through wax paper blurry?  That doesn't sound like a migraine.

Best wishes.

Please please go to the ER... i dont want to scare you but severe headaches with vision loss is a sign of a stroke.  Please go and get an MRI/Ct scan it is so much better to be safe.  Wish you luck but please have this looked into.
