Actually the doctors will tell you "no". But I have heard of people getting shingles from exposure to chicken pox or to someone else who has shingles. So I would say, "yes".
They might have to do a specific Zoster's blood test to find it, esp. without the pimples. - But it's not as uncommon as doctors would have you believe.
Can you still get shingles without ever getting chicken pox?
Sorry - my first thought was appendicitis. But shingles can also start that way and she still needs to see a doctor. You can have shingles without the rash and it is very painful.
If it isn't her appendix, get some APIS from the health food store to help her with the pain.
I hope the doctor's are able to help her - if it's shingles she will be on an anti-viral and possibly on Gabapentin for nerve pain
Best wishes,
Appendicitis! Get her to a doctor! Please!
