I'm not a doctor. But, my husband was tired all the time. He doesn't eat much. He works third shift. He finally went to the doctor.  The test he had done were his vitamins, cholesterol and there were alot more but they did do a thyroid test and all his test did come back good. So now the doctor is helping him to loose weight. Just be honest with the doctor and tell him all the symptoms, and if you drink a half gallon of milk like my husband had a day let the doctor know, because when he found out my husbands eating habits he laughed and said no more than an 8 ounce glass of milk. My husband lost 12 pounds and he has more energy. He just has to learn what not to eat large quanities of and to have a bed time schedule. Of course spring is here and we have a trike so he is getting to be quite the energizer bunny knowing he will be able to ride  again.

Now me I am a women of 56. The last ten years of my life was hectic, depressing but always trying to show my strong side. I have two sons who spent time in the military the youngest had gone through so much in his life with five tours overseas. My husband couldn't understand my closeness to my son's like, weird as this is I always felt or sensed when danger and my son met. Everytime at least 10 days later they would confirm it so my husband backed off when stressed me out. But, In the last 15 yrs. my thyroid is not producing , I have to take medication for it, I had emergency hysterectomy, we have lost in one years time  one sister who was like a m om and my dad and husbands, that took a toll on us so see stress is one of a person big factors. I was in a bad car accident and still suffereing two years later anyways, I found out the thyroid does play and reek havoic on people. I lost my ump, I'm not sleeping normal (I blame my husbands third shift on that)  I've been depressed and forgetful. I suffered last year with vertical which put me in a spin. I would go to the doctor have him test you for everything. I would ask about vertical. my sypmtoms of that were I was on a computer I must have dozed off for a few minutes and when I lifted my head the room was spinning and I closed my eyes and I felt like I was spinning. I tried to get up to go to the bathroom I felt nausus. I hit the wall couldn't walk straight when I got to the bathroom I couldn't tilt my head my head was killing me, so I sat down and help my temples and rocked and cried and screamed for my husband thank god he was still home. he gave me a cool cloth for my face and helped me to the bedroom I asked to be left alone scared. after 20 minutes I got up a little off and dizzy. I wasn't eating right  that week and I was so tired that week. I went to the emergency room just to be safe and the doctor checked my eyes and vitals and from what I told him I had vertical. My family doctor gave me  pills for the dizziness and the nausea, I have to carry them with me for vertical can come up. Today was the first time I had to use a dizzy pill. I hope you get feeling better. But, thyroid and vertical go get checked out..

It could be many, many things. A doctor would take a thorough history of your health and any other possible symptoms. Then appropriate testing could be performed. Pregnancy could be a cause of these symptoms. So - the first aspect of your "history" is whether or not you are female!  Then, of course, how old you are. Are you having periods? Have you had sexual relations?  Details of medical history such as these help direct us in the right direction.  If pregnancy is a possibility, a simple urine test can answer that question.  On the other hand - if that is not likely, we would want to know if you have lost or gained weight. Do you take any medications. What sorts of things run in your family? Do you smoke? Drink? Use drugs?  You could have anemia (low blood). This can be caused by many things, including heavy periods, bleeding in the stomach, etc. A blood count can quickly determine if that is a problem.  You could have thyroid problems, or you could even have a problem with low blood pressure - can be caused by adrenal malfunction.  So - this can be a simple or a very complicated problem. See a good family physician who can take a thorough medical history and do a thorough physical exam, and then order testing as indicated.
