xanax for a week

Hello, my 3 y/o daughter has just been diagnosed with a nuerological disorder, and as you can imagine, I'm pretty stressed.
My DR prescribed me xanax 0.5mg two times a day so 1mg a day, and I've taken them for 3 days. BUT now I'm reading about seizures, and I'm so scared to take them. That's the LAST thing I need right now.

Can anyone give me more information? Or ease my mind a bit?

Thank you so much.
:]

ive seen people take up to 25mg xaxax (recreational dose).although i dont condone this behavior, if youre in good health then take the meds and enjoy the sleep. if they make you feel bad stop .simple as that

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
All medications have potential side effects. However since they are passed and approved for human use, the percentage of appearance of these symptoms are very less. Also their benefits outweigh their side effects.
If you took Xanax for three days and had no problem, felt better, you should do well on the drug. In all probability you will be not have any such side effects.
I am sorry to hear about your daughter and do understand your concern regarding having to keep fit. Also if at all you have seizures then stopping Xanax will stop them too. It will not be like you have developed epilepsy.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
