Back Pain Please help....

I have had 9 strokes as of today Sunday, 6-24-07.  
Last year, I had eleven compression fractures and five surgeries on my spine in a two week span of time. After the fifth surgery they told me that the record for fractures was seventeen and to be prepared because I would surpass that. My hips are not looking good and I had a herniated disk. The above problems with my fractures happened this past year.  I also suffered an additional four strokes and unfortunately they found that I have been having blood clots in my lungs. You have serious problems that I cannot hope to adress. And a person who has in the past suffered level ten pain through spinal injury I know nobody can imagine what you go through. The problem with morphine, among other things, is that it requuires a steadily increasing dose to produce the same effect. If you gooff it for a while, the cells clear out and you can go into respiratory arrest by starting out with the same high dose. Any patient who takesmorphine shouldalso have aprescrioption for nalaxone hydrochloride, better known as NARCAN, which is the morphine antidote. It is not a controlled substance.I found accupuncture helpful as well as a TENS device. Both operate on two principals(a) the brain usually cannot process twopain signals at the same time and (b) the brain prioritizes signals from those areas of the body deemed to be most hazardous.Thus the a mall sensation of a nerve in the earlobe in the proper place activated by an accupuncture needle, is senses as a" threat to the head", which prioritized over a threat to the legs. The sensation from the needle, however is insignificant,. but it can block massive pain from lumbar damage. The TENS deviceworks in a similar fashion. The problemis finding a good accupuncturist.Many are chinese orkoprean trained and use techniques developed for orientals. The catch is that for accupuncture to be optima; a pain dermatome has to be utilized and these vary with genetic predisposition, and the Chinese charts may notworkfor non Chinese. It is nunfortunate that themodern American Medicalcommunity has rejected accupuncture out of hand and not investigated the genetic varients necessary for the technique to succeed.
