Please Help my 5 year old daughter.

My 5 year old daughter has had one of the worst oders that I've ever smelled coming from her arm pits and vigina (vagina) area for the past 3 years now. We've gone to several specialist and had several tests done, ultra sounds, blood test you name it they've tried it. It's so bad that my daughter gets made fun of at school and if I give her a bath she smells the second she comes out. My daughter is starting to get depressed from it. I felt so bad yesterday because I gave her new cloths to put on and when I came back it smelled so bad that I asked her to change again and she started crying. I really have no where to turn now so I'm trying every avenue that I can find. Please help thanks.

I would pursue some metabolic avenues and perhaps some cultures.  Some bacteria produce very offensive odors and perhaps a swab culture to determine if she has such colonization.   There might be some metabolic disorders that could produce some effects that you mentioned.  Try posting your question on the peds endocrine forum.

have they worked her up for precocious puberty or an adrenal problem?

Hi, I feel so sorry for your daughter. A friend of a friend had a child who constantly had a fishy odour despite rigorous hygiene. It was a metabolic disorder of some sort, so it is worth checking out. Apparently, some certain types of odour are characterisic of specific conditions. PKU carries a musty smell for example. If your daughter shows no signs of precocious puberty, then this is worth checking. I wish you the best of luck :)

Okay i have been dealing with this situation for 3 years going to 4. I have been getting one or two bumps on my viginal area. I have been shaving(when i shouldn't be) and i am unconfortable showing my body to any doctor(i do not like doctors like i dont like cops(I want to become a doctor and i am in school learning to become one). I get them every so often. They come and then go away with the matter of 1 or 2 weeks from when it first appeared. I squeeze it and not enough pus comes out. I am scared and don't want to go see a doctor. So with that said, what should I do?

For mezmoriz, I am not going to feel sorry for your daughter because I know this situation will make her a stronger and better women in the future and I would just like to let her know i have to suffer from odor too so she is not alone...Wish you and your daughter the best of luck.

May God bless you and make is holy.
