adult chicken pox vs dermatitis

I just turned 50 September 7 and 8 days ago I have been having bad headaches.  A rash started on my hands and feet.  I went to my primary doctor and was rx Kellog cream BID to rash.  It has not gone away.  I notice a new area which start out as white pimple with no head on it and multiple circular type with crooked edges and fluid filled bumps.  It's been 9 days now since the first bump appeared and today I noticed more bumps on my legs, arms, groin, and pubic area.  No fluid is in them as yet and my headache continues.  Since this problem began I have gone to my primary care physician as noted above and then I went to the Emergency Room because my headache was so bad I thought I might have an aneurysm or stroke at any time.  Could you elaborate on the information given because I do not think my medical care is appropriate for my complaint.  By the way, I went to the ER and the NP suggested I have a syphyllis test.  I told her I did not agree and was sure I did not have an STD and I never got any result but did get a fat bill for the visit with a negative syphyllis result.

Grow up - there a lots of people who put up posts here because they are worried and need advice or just need to share something with others - I really think you're comments are so immature and at times concerning!

It's just amazing me that as we age, the changes we continue to go through.  With all the technology today and the knowledge that people have, why can't we prevent these things that are so uncomfortable and quite painful before we realize what is really going on.  I wish you much success that you are able to remain symptom free for as long as possible and I pray that you don't end up having to become a Hermit or Prisoner to your own home.

I'm 43 now and was never allergic to anything until about 12 months ago - I'm told it's often something to do with hormone changes - my allergy is to conifer trees and all related trees including pine furniture.  It took me years to get the furniture I liked for my bedroom - all pine of course - so I recycled it by giving it all to family and friends overnight more or less and replaced only a few of the items made from cheap mdf - now I am not coughing or suffering from a blocked nose all night!  I just wish people round here wouldn't use it as hedging - it's everywhere I go where I live so I tend to stay indoors!  Hope it all disappears as quickly as it arrived.

Thank you for sharing your input.  I will keep a close eye on it and will see another physician.  I've never had allergies or a rash such as this one and I'd like for it to go away.  My head has been pounding for the past 8 days and it is becoming a nuisance.  None of them appeared on my back, shoulders  or neck area.  God Bless.

The fact it started on your hands makes me wonder if it's a contact allergy.  Have you recently changed anything like washing powder or soap?  Or have the manufacturers 'improved' the product you use.  I would try an anti-histamine for a couple of days to see if that makes a difference - when my daughters eczema comes up because of her food or contact allergies it starts off in a similar way including a blinding headache and sometimes sore eyes.  If left untreated it does spread around her body.  Did you have any start on the back of your shoulders or around your neck area?  As shingles often starts there - check out the symptoms on the net and if in doubt try to see a different gp.
