swelling in the legs...veins that surface at night??

by freyafreya, Jul 06, 2008 09:16PM
hello

I am a female 27 years of age,  I take the birth control pill. A few months ago I noticed swelling in my thighs. Two weeks ago the swelling turned painful. Varicose veins or small red veins popped up. It seemed like they popped up overnight! By morning the swelling is gone and I feel normal. One night I lost sensation in my left arm and had tingling there. It subsided  as soon as I rested and the pressure was off my legs.  I took asprin because I am afraid of blood clotting and since I take the pill I know it may lead to blood clots.  I have no chest pain and no trouble breathing. i am skinny so there is no reason why weight is a factor in pressure in my legs.

I had a benign cyst pop up under my left arm in the armpit area. It was diagnosed as benign. I feel it "bubbling" when the pressure in my legs is hurting me.  Sometimes I feel the veins "bubbling" or moving!!!

What may be happening? What specialist do I go to?

thank you for your time
