Deep pain during sexual intercourse

Just over 2 weeks ago I had a D&C w/ hysteroscopy. I am a 55 yr. old female - still peri-menopausal.  My doctor and I had planned on a an ablation procedure (heavy/frequent periods); but the results of the biopsy (a pre-op requirement) revealed simple endometrial hyperplasia. She then recommended the D&C and the insertion of an IUD to release progestin into my utereus to fight the hyperplasia. After the biopsy, when I had sexual intercourse, I experienced deep pain during sexual intercourse-nothing  like this had ever happened before. Well, I have continued bleeding (not as heavy as before the D&C - but a steady period) and after waiting the 2 weeks to have intercourse - the deep pain was even worse.  The pain feels like my husband's penis is "knocking" against something and meeting resistance?!  Could this be scar tissue from the biopsy?....and then things made even worse during the D&C/hysteroscopy??  Do I need more time to heal around my cervix?  Is the IUD the culprit?  How/what steps are next to diagnose this embarassing pain?  My husband is a wonderful man....I don't want him to know I hurt during sex.....but not sure if I can let it go on for too long.

Possibly the IUD. Please have your gynecologist check the IUD to make shure it is properly paced and not causing pain when it is touched. This should be your first move.

I had an iud after my last son an had to have it removed ti caused me to much discomfort. After that they found out (after me showing them the tissue) that i still had after birth in me 1 year after i had my son. There is still adnormial bleeding pain during intercourse an after. My periods are verry painful. I have three kids an they were all c-sections could this be my problem i dont know. If you have any thoughts please let me know i dont have insurance so that is a problem with them running more test.
