Discharge and odor after Prolapsed Organ repair and Bladder lift

I had a Rectocele (Hernia) repair aka prolapsed organ and a Mini sling for my bladder done on 11/16. I have stopped bleeding a few days ago but now i am experiencing a yellowish discharge with a foul odor. Is this normal? I had an ablation last year and had similar symptoms but found i had developed E-coli! I am just concerned that I may have developed e-coli again? Any suggestions?

It is possible that this represents suture breakdown and is normal.  However, I would suggest you contact you doctor for possible evaluation and culture if appropriate.  J. Kyle Mathews, MD
