Sanctura vs. Detrol

My mom started taking Sanctura for overactive bladder and it worked wonders the next day -- but also apparently caused constipation. Her doctor switched her to Detrol. No constipation, but it doesn't work nearly as well (after two weeks). Does Detrol take longer to kick in? Should she try Sanctura again at a smaller dose? What can be learned from the success of Sanctura and the failure of Detrol in terms of suggesting a third med to try? Thanks!

Detrol and other medications usually can take up to 4 weeks to have the effect. If this is not working, you might try the Sanctura again, same dose, but with a laxative/stool softener like Pericolace to help with the constipation.
