UTI?

last night after i got off work..i kept feeling the urge to urinate, but i couldnt because there wasnt anything to pee..when i actually had to, after i was done it was really painful. all through the night i kept getting up to pee and it still was hurting. now, there is blood, but this is around the time i start my menstrual cycle so im not sure if its from that, or something else. also i had sexual intercourse on saturday, i heard if you dont go pee afterwards you can get abladder infection..and i didn't pee..
Does this seem like something serious?
have any ideas of what it could be

This sounds like a bladder infection or an STD. You should get evaluated by a gynecologist soon.

It would be a good idea to call the doctor. They can take a urine sample and get you some antibiotics. It is true, especially if you are prone to bladder infections that you should pee after intercourse. Some helpful things for UTI's are drink plenty of fluids (water is best), drink cranberry juice (I usually use Cran-Apple or something because I can't handle it straight, but make sure it has a decent amount of crnaberry), and avoid caffeine. Good luck - I used to get alot of those they are no fun!
