which are the most effective pills/creams to treat BV?

I have been receiving treatment for BV since last January, still it  reocurs each month after my period. My symptoms are as follows: redness in  the vaginal and anal area, tingling sensation in both areas and white discharge. I do the  treatment at hospital but it is very expensive and not effective. Can you please recommend me some creams or medicine to help me cope with this horrible disease? The doctor doesn't give me any medicine, instead when I do the treatment at hospital, first they wash the outside and the inside of my vagina, then they insert a tube which has a cold air in it (I do not know the name of these because I am receiving treatment at a Chinese hospital), then they put some cream and then they turn on a red light towards my vagina. I apologize but I do not know the English translation for this treatment, neither the doctors know.
