Post prostatectomy complications

by fancy426, Oct 24, 2009 03:15PM
My husband had a robotic prostatectomy 10 days ago.  His catheter was removed 3 days ago.  Within 18 hours of the catheter removal, he began experiencing extreme pain.  He was examoined in the emergency room and urine retention was ruled out.  He has not had a bowel movement in the last 3 days.  He continues to experience spasmotic pain.  Last night he began to run a temperature that will spike up to over 101 and then come back down. He may have a normal temp or low grade (100) for rest of the day/night.  His abdomen is not hard or distended.  His doctor is at a loss to explain the odd assortment of symptoms.  I would appreciate any input.
