Reaction from Bcg Treatment

by ladylogger, Oct 30, 2009 11:07PM
My husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer and was suppose to go thru 6 weeks of bcg treatments, after his 4th one his body started to fell really achy, the day after the 5th one he was pretty much a criippled up mess. His whole body was in EXTREME pain. Every joint in his body hurt so bad, he has pain thru his shoulders and up his back, then different parts of his joints started to swell, knees, ankles, wrists. We have been in and out of the Drs office, back to the uroligist, in the ER to get the pain under control. They did blood tests and all they can come up with is that he has inflamation (inflammation) in his body. They put him on prednisone, gave him a shot in the Drs then sent him home with pills. He started to feel better after a couple days but soon as he cut down to 2-3 pills a day, the pain is back. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? They are now going to cut the prednisone out and start him on a different antiflamatory called voltaren 50 mg 3 times daily. He never did get his 6th treatment and it has now been 30 days since last treatment.  PLEASE Any help will be greatly appreciated.
