Advisability CT with contrast following removal of kidney

I had a kidney removed due to RCC. For my 6 month follow up my physician wants me to get an abdominal CT with contrast. I'm concerned about damage to my remaining kidney from the contrast. Do the risks of the procedure outweigh the potential benefits given other tests/scans that are available?

If your physician believes that the benefit of a followup CT scan outweighs the risks involved with the use of contrast, then proceed.
Certain precautions can prevent contrast toxicity. These include; good hydration and use of non-ionic contrast agents.
