blood in my semen

i found blood the other day in my semen       what could cause this?

Several things can cause blood in semen (called hematospermia).  Most of the time it is self-limited and goes away on it's own without any specific cause or treatment.  Usually inflammation of the prostate/seminal vesicle or post-biopsy can be causes.
