next tuesday I am going to have a outpatient surgery of my bladder and kidney - on the paper they gave me it says for the procedure he is going to do a - right RU W/ flex URS w/ pss bx - can you tell me what this means
The "right RU" (I don't use this abbreviation) probably stands for right retrogradeErcp Retrograde ejaculation ureterogram. This is where the surgeon injects contrast dye into your right ureterCancer - renal pelvis or ureter Reflux nephropathy Ureterocele Vesicoureteral reflux and kidney and does an x-ray to look for any abnormalities. "Flex URS w/ pss bx" is flexible ureteroscopy with possible biopsy. This is where a small flexible camera is used to look from the bladder into the ureterCancer - renal pelvis or ureter Reflux nephropathy Ureterocele Vesicoureteral reflux (tube that connects kidney to bladder) and kidney if necessary to inspect by vision for any abnormalities that may be seen on the right RU. If there is a lesion then a biopsy of the tissue can be performed at that time to determine what the lesion is composed of.
