lower back pain, right side while jogging

by Jhg555, Mar 28, 2007 12:00AM
After my heartrate has increased from jogging, my lower back on right side becomes tight. Feels like a cramp, seems to be in the kidney area. Any ideas?

The kidneys are located just behind the lower ribs and not in the lower back.Pain in the kidney region is due to stretch of the kidney capsule by stone, fluid etc.

The feeling of tightness after exercise may be muscular rather than related to the kidney. However if this is persistent you should see a physican who can examine you to decide whether  further investigation is warranted.
