mesenteric adenopathy

by mikes123, Oct 27, 2007 09:55AM
Hi Doc,
I was in the ER yesterday with sever pain.  A CT scan was performed, a kidney stone was diagnosed and I passed it last night.  No further symptoms.  However, The ER Doc also said there were mesenteric lymph nodes present, but not to worry...just to get the checked.  This has me very worried.  Is it normal for these nodes to be present secondarily to kidney stones passing?  I am very nervous.

Thanks

It is important to get the location and size of the lymphnodes to get some idea about the pathology.
Any inflammatory process (including that in the kidneys) can lead to lymphnode enlargement. But the location of lymphnode enlargement in kidney or ureteric cause is in the retroperitoneum.

Provide more detailed report.
