13 years old - Erectile Dysfunction?

Recently, I had a skateboarding accident where I fell and was injured just behind the testicles. I don't think it was that serious, but it is a bit bruised on the tube-like tissues there. I've noticed right after this incident, it has been harder for me to obtain an erection, and when I do, it is a bit soft and definitely not as hard as it used to be. Is it E.D.?

I've read around, and I think it might be due to masturbation. I read that masturbation depletes your testerone, and this could cause erectile dysfunction. I know that erectile dysfunction is caused by not enough blood flow in the tissues of the penis, and can affect penis growth. I haven't started growing yet, and I'm very worried I never will.

My main questions are basically-
Do I have erectile dysfunction?
Is it caused by over-masturbation or the recent injury?
What can I do? I'm only 13.
Will it affect my penis growth?

I forgot to mention I had an ultrasound on my testicles, but not anywhere else. Should I go see a urologist? I'm thinking of waiting a few weeks first.

A urologist’s evaluation is desirable as the extent of injury and the other possibilities have to be ruled out.An ultrasound of the genitalia may be needed to confirm the diagnosis. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.

Also the area of injury hurts when I get an erection, is this due to the circulation?

Common causes causing erection problem are stress and anxiety, unrealistic sexual expectations, negative feelings about non performance,smoking, alcohol and sometimes illicit drugs and medical conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart or thyroid conditions, poor circulation, low testosterone, depression, spinal cord injury, nerve damage (for example, from prostate surgery), or neurologic disorders (such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease).

From your symptoms,it does not sound like a serious disorder but it needs evaluation as poor circulation after trauma can be one possibility.

I have actually gone to the doctor and he said that everything was fine. He didn't say much about a weak erection but he told me to go to a urologist if it doesn't get better. I really don't know what to do and don't want to go to a urologist unless I have to.

It would be best for you to be seen by a doctor. Without being examined it is hard to tell if injury to the root of the penis took place.

Most boys your age should not have any problems with ED as the result of masterbation.
Being only 13 it could be too early yet for you to go through puberty. Once you experience puberty, you sshould be able to see changes in your development.

Testosterone is needed for the changes of puberty. Most males do not have any problems with this. Since you are a minor you will need your parent's conscent to be examined by a doctor. I can understand that these issues might be difficult to talk about with your parents.

I have allways been up front and open with my children. My oldest son started puberty at about 11 or 12. Our other son did not start puberty untill the age of 15. Even our 2 daughters are different in this way as well. The oldest daughter did not really start untill 14 and our youngest started at 12.

I hope that you have parents who are open to questions about sexual development. My wife and I felt that this part of life should be explaned by the parents and not by teachers or other adults that our children might get in contact with.

Don't be shy and please talk to your parents about this.
