I gave birth to two healthy boys with this condition. Both urethra openings were slightly under the tip of the head of the penis. One had a repair @ 11 months, the other @ 3 1/2 months. I used the same Urologist for both surgeries. My first son has to have another operation in January, due to the opening not being big enough... He's 3 1/2 now. I'm concerned about general anesthesia of course, but also I notice a slight curve of his penis. He seems to have extra skin @ the repair site. Can anything be done about that? Also, is there any research or case studies showing a genetic responsibility? how could I have 2 when studies say 3 out of 1000? Also I read that progesterone could play a role or hormonal imbalance w/ the mother during pregnancy. Could having "female problems" contribute to this condition?
