3 year old with Ecoli UTI
Our pediatrician is recommending a VCUG for our 3 year old b/c of 2 UTI's she had.  But, both UTI's were E-coli infections and occurred after we caught her having BM and wiping herself without telling us.  She was also wiping wrong, from back to front.  So, I am a little concerned with doing unnecessary treatment that will be invasive.  My question would be, what are the chances of having an E-coli infection and it actually being from reflux or obstruction?  Wouldn't she have a different kind of infection, not E-coli? Any helpful advice would be appreciated.
