ALoT OF PAIN

My husband is diagnosed with prostatitis. He also seems to have jock itch and now it appears like he has hemrroids. I want to know does protatitis cause hemrroids or could he be experiencing something else. He has had alot of extramarital activities and has tested negative for STDs as far as I know. What else should I be looking for when talking to the doctor. They seem to see him rapidly and diagnosed him with prostatits and jock itch. The hemrroids is new and we havent gone to a doctor yet. Help me with some insight please. He is in alot of pain. He has been on cipro and a muscle relaxer for 8wks now and nothing has changed.?

The doctor is correct it does take time and patience to deal with a prostate infection.
Did they put your husband on antibiotics- I am just curious if maybe he has gotten a yeast type infection from the antibiotics.  I know this is not as common in men
but I would ask if this could be a possiblity with the itching.

The other things I thought about is if he is having multiple issues all in the general area
it might help to see a pelvic pain PT.  Sometimes they can find things along a different
direction then a doctor.  For instance if he has pain in both areas and hemorrhoids is
he straining to much with his bowels injury other things in that area.  Is this because of some damaged or muscle spasms?  A good Pelvic Pain PT would be able to rule out these issue!  I am a women but found a PT evaluation something I put off for a long time and was amazed at the knowledge and help they provided me!

Hi,
There’s no relation between hemorrhoids & prostatitis. One doesn’t lead to other and they are co-existing incidentally. The symptoms could be due to prostatitis and it’s one of the difficult diseases to treat and usually needs long courses of antibiotics. One has to wait patiently for the infection to get eradicated. It’s a good thing that the tests of STD’s have come out to be negative. Please be assured everything should be okay and it only needs sometime. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
