After effects of infection

Hi,
I had a staff infection that spread all across my penis, testicles, bladder, prostate etc.
The doc first treated me for a range of STD's.
Doxy 3 weeks
Zithromax 4 mg
Flagyl 2mg
Cipro 5 days
All of which did not help
Ceftraxine 1 500 mg shot (helped)
After they didn't work completly, the lab determined it was a coag neg staff infection and put me on Cravit for just over two weeks. 95% of the symptoms are gone. I only have a slight discharge in the morning. Now it is lighter and more watery than before. On monday, the doc thought it could be a opprotunistic fungal infection and perdcribed Diflucan.
I have had improvement but not 100%. All my tests, and I have had a lot, say I have nothing. This sunday I will go off my meds and see what happens.

Here are my questions?
1) The staff was cleared from all other affected areas, is it possible that the pain and discharge are a result of scaring? if so, how long do you think it should take to clear?
2) any other thoughts on possible causes of prolonged discharge?

Thanks

Hi,
After further inspection. It's not a discharge from the penis. When I wake up, I can't see any thing or milk it out. Its mucous comming from my bladder only when I urinate. It's a clear mucous. No oder. Small amounts but visable. I have some discomfort in the bladder area in the mornings but that usually passes with in minutes of urinating.

The doc took a swab seveal weeks ago and it was diagnosed as coag neg staph. The ceftraxion and cravit removed all sings of infection with the exception of the pain in the tip of my penis. I assume that most of that is in my head or the result of the infection.

I will be requesting a unrine culture on Friday as well as an additional swab. I need to be sure that I don't have anything that I can pass onto my wife.

I have complied with all the antibiotics. The doc gave me seveal anti inflamitories. I opted not to take them until recenlty as the antibiotics are affected by the Non Sterodial Anti Inflametories.

I guess I need to wait till my follow up on Friday. that will be 5 days no meds. If the symptoms return or get worse, I will be going back soon.

Here's hoping I'm at the end of a bad period in my life!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL

Hi

How would you describe the initial character of the discharge?

Is it yellowish, clear or foul smelling?

Was a culture of the discharge done?

It may take quite sometime before an infection in these areas resolve. You may need to follow up with you doctor for an assessment regarding your response to the drug. You have responded to most medications given you. You have also noted that the discharge has cleared. This seems to be a positive response. The discharge may still be present due to inflammation of involved structures. Nevertheless, have this assessed by your doctor in case further evaluation is necessary.

Have you complied with your medications?
