My Doc said i had a bactria in a semen culture and apparantly had it for a while kinda burning inside, in tube and prescribed ciproCipro Cipro hc Cipro i.v. Cipro xr seemd to help a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys bit didnt notice any problems reddness or burning, did that round of that and went back and he said i still have it and prescribed doxoycycl 100mg two times a day for ten days and said if it didnt seem to help do one more round, which i am on now i still feel burning and experiancing redness, i looked on here and saw the bactria iscorynebactria or entreroco bactria which i have no idea what i have . Doc said its not transmitted thru intercourseCauses of painful intercourse Sexual intercourse - painful which i havent been using protection should I. he said it wasnt sexually tranmitted is it? is the redness from yeast from the antibotics? if so what do i take and what are the bacteria and how did i get it more importantly how do i get rid of it, could my wife get it also? I do have a small problem of after urninating a drip or two, i just figured it was age but after reading this or some comments maybe its the bacteria, all i know is i want this gone so what do I do???
Thanks I am not sure if its coryenebactria or not Doc didnt tell me what kindof bacteria it was . If it is those types and i use those antibotics you suggested will that kill the bacteria? and I have another question does that have an effect on redness? I have put cortison on an it takes the redness out, but when excited and erection it gets red and feels a little tender is that the bacteria or is that yeast from the antibotics killing the good yeast and letting the bad yeast grow? The last time I went to Dr. Urlogist he said this was hard to kill apparantly, and he dismissed the redness as moisture i guess kinda like a rash. Thank you for you input and i will let you know on my progress.
Hi Edward,
Only a culture of the organism causing the infection will clearly let us know which antibiotics it is sensitive to.
The antibiotics I mentioned are the one's that have been found to be most effective as the bacteria treated have been sensitive to them.
Cortisone is steroid and should not be used in the presence of a bacterial infection, especially while not combined with an antibiotic.
Do check with your doctor as to whether you should continue with the cortisone (if it has been prescribed by the doctor).
Redness indicates some sort of inflammation and could mean there is infection or irritation, so its best to keep the area clean with gentle care.
I have a visit scheduled with the Dr. on 2nd of July and i have wrote down all the stuff i could find on this thru discussions and your help, I do have one other problem that i orginally thought was caused by antibotics but since being off them bout a week maybe its not a little bit of blood from the rectum after a bowel movemnet, and i dont have hemmiords i have had those before and had a hemmirodectomy(not fun) but i will see if he wil do a culture and find out what kind of bacteria i have it seems to get better then burn a little not really pain just a dull burn just enough to be discomfortble.. not sure how actually to discribe it. Thank you and i will keep watching the watch ist on others that have simular problems.
Hey Doc, I went to see uroligist today and he said that it has significantly killed most of the bacteria or the count was way down and that it is on way out and gave me one more round of Doxa cil or what ever that was but not to take it for about a week, he had me calm down lol and explained that things that never bothered me before i am scrutinzing on now and it seems much worse than it is.. he said to take a ibuprofen twice a day for a week to let the imflation die down and if i still feel a slight burning or tingling then get the last dose of antibotics. and now that my mind has eased up a bit and i dont think about it a lot its not realy bothering me so I guess he knows what he is talking about he does have a degree in this so hopefully it will work he did take a sample of semen and also a urin sample right after the semen to try to culture the little critter , but he thinks i will be fine.. gee i hope so..:0 thanks and see if that sounds good to you. thanks again
Please check whether the organism is corynebacteria or E.coli.
Corynebacteria are present in a lot of places - vegetables, livestock, etc.
If you handled yourself after coming into contact with any of the above or after handling soil, you could have contracted this infection.
Corynebacteria (most species) are resistant to a lot of antibiotics.
However, erythromycin and cefotaxime are considered effective in treating infections caused by them.
You will need to have a culture sensitivity done to check which antibiotic the bacteria you have are sensitive to.
You will also need to have your blood sugar levels tested to rule out diabetes.
There is a possibility that your wife could also become infected, so it would be best to practice safe sex (condoms).
Alternatively, you could ask your doctor to prescribe erythromycin or cefotaxime.
Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
Regards
Ed
