Black spots on penis

I am an uncircumsized male in my late 50's. A couple of years ago I found a small black spot under the foreskin on the "ring" where the foreskin connects to the penis. I thought nothing of it. Two days ago, while in the shower, I noticed that there are now about 12 of these small spots. What are they and should I be concerned?

Cannot say without looking at the lesions.  Possibilities can include various types of STDs (herpes, genital warts).  Cysts or fungal infections can be considered if the evaluation for STDs is non-revealing.  

You may want to consider seeing your personal physician or a dermatologist for further evaluation.  If herpes is considered, the lesions can be swabbed and sent out for diagnosis.

With any penile lesions, it may be a good idea to be screened for urethritis and prostatitis.  A urinalysis and digital rectal exam is a reasonable initial approach.
