Bladder Pain and Frequent Urination Urgency

My son went to the doctor today because for 4 days now he has been sick with vomitting and a high fever (103-104.4).  I figured that it was just a viral infection at first and then he started with urinary problems and that is when I took him to the doctor.  During the 3rd and 4th day of being sick, he started to run to the bathroom to urinate only to have either nothing or only drops come out.  Sometimes it is not so frequent, but I know that in one hour this morning, he tried 8-10 times and was getting frustated.  He has also complained of stomach pain the whole 4 days and when I asked him where it hurts, he points real low to his bladder area.  I went from thinking it was just a viral infection to thinking it was a UTI or kidney infection.  He had a blood and urine test at the doctor and then they were going to call me with results.  The nurse called and said that everything was okay - which I am glad for, but didn't expect.  Sorry for the long post, but are there any other reasons for bladder pain and frequent urinary urges?  They just said if he still has problems in a few more days to come back.  He isn't a complainer and I just can't help to think that maybe there is something else to this.  Or, do some viral infections (which they said it probably was) cause these symptoms?  Any information would be very much appreciated.  Thanks.

I also have had 3-4 UTI's in the past 3 months with horrible lower back pain...i was on antibiotics for all 3 UTI's..but its funny that you mentioned the bloating because I noticed with the back pains my stomach is getting more and more bloated and larger and I am a tiny person. Its gotten to the point where I look 4 months pregnant. I don't know what to do. I also some times get these horrible and i mean HORRIBLE stomach pains where I cry and have to hit my leg because I don't know what to do about the pain and I feel my face getting flushed. I will have pains like that for about 20 mins then they will subside. My main fear is some kind of cancer. I haven't been to the doctor yet but my gyno told me I should go. I dont have insurance. What do i do?  Your symptoms are just like mine

I have had 3 UTI's in the last 4 months, so I can relate.  I have a bloated stomach (among other GI symptoms), neurological symptoms, etc... but I never had a prolonged high fever.  Has your son taken antibiotics (flouroqinolones) in the recent past (within the last 6 months or so)?  I've been on a constant search (for over 2 years now) on how to get over this.  You definitely need to have some lab work done for him: test thryroids, liver numbers, etc.  You can find natural suppliments to get over the burning sensations, be VERY leary of taking antibiotics to get him over this.  If you get a chance check this site out:

Good Luck to your son!
