I am a 53 year old man and have for the past 5 years experienced
bladder problems.My symptoms are;Frequency of urination especially at night,incomplete emptying of my bladder,
swellingAbdomen - swollen
Ankle sprain swelling
Breast - premenstrual tenderness and swelling
Foot swelling
Foot, leg, and ankle swelling
Gums - swollen
Joint swelling
Mastoiditis - redness and swelling behind ear
Scrotal swelling
Swelling and bloating in my stomach/abdomen,pain in the rectum and base of abdomen I have had all the usual tests,including, scans
blood tests, prostate tests, and a camera in the bladder.

2 years ago,to help empty the bladder fully, it did not work.
I have disc problems in my lower back but have been assured by various consutants that it is not connected with my bladder problems ----Can you help with any information.

The symptoms that you have described do suggest bladder outlet obstruction, which happens in most men to varying degrees, as they mature beyond their forties. You seem to have had most of the necessary tests , as well as the right procedure for your problem. One important study to do is what is referred to as urodynamic testing. This usually helps determine the cause of urinary problem. If this has not been done, you may want to discuss this with your urologist. Another follow up surgery which may be helpful for you is transurethral
