Blood creatinine increasing

This Question refers to a post on May 1

The numbers that I provided was blood creatinine levels in ummol.

Previously it was 53 and now it is 73.

The doctors see this number(73)and tell me my kidney function is fine and I cannot seem to get a referal to a kidney specialist. However I know I am not urnating as frequently as a should.

I read that any increase in creatinine above 20% should have an immediate refferal to a kidney specialist. Also when I use this number to calculate my GFR it is at 89 which is stage 2 kidney disease(is it not).

Am I overanalyzing this. Can blood creatinine flucuate or is something causing me to have kidney failure.

Your thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The more recent serum creatinine level continues to be within normal limits (converts to 0.83 mg/dL).  Repeating the tests periodically can be done to ensure the levels aren't rising.

Yes, serum creatinine can fluctuate based on hydration or exercise.  Obtaining a urinalysis to look for protein, or an ultrasound of the kidneys can be done if kidney disease continues to be a concern.

Followup with your personal physician is essential.
