Blood in urine, stool, get tired easily

Hi I am a 26 year old male. I have had the above symptoms for a few weeks now. The blood in the urine is most frequent and usually very red. The blood in the stool hasn't happened for a while, but when it did there was a lot. I thought maybe it was a hemaroid or something, but then the blood in the urine came. Also, I have been getting a bit more tired (although I just started grad school so it could be that). I was a peace corps volunteer for 2 1/2 years and had malaria, was treated. Also had something from drinking bad water, but was treated. I went to an internal medicine doctor and he did blood tests and urine and stool tests for abnormalities, parasites, strep throat, malaria, etc. and couldn't find anything except blood in my urine. Any ideas? Also he checked my prostate and said it was normal. Normally I wouldn't care, but I have to say urinating red is rather disheartening.

Ok thanks very much. I figured it would need more of an in depth look, hopefully its nothing too serious.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
This may be due to presence of blood in urine. Presence of blood in urine is called hematuria.Causes include lesions of the urinary tract, disease of the prostate, trauma, tumours, malaria or stones in the urinary tract.

I feel that without clinical examination, pinpointing a diagnosis is tough. Also a complete urine examination and culture may be required. Please consult a urologist for confirming the diagnosis. If the bloody stool is bright red, then it could be due to hemorrhoids or anal fissures. The causes of bloody stool that is more maroon in color is intestinal polyps, inflammatory bowel disease or diverticulosis (diverticulosis causes significant bleeding). For confirming the diagnosis you need to get a colonoscopy done.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
