i had also an appendectomy in early february, i got pain in whole-belly, and i was not able to take even my breakfast, it was severe, i was operated of appendix later on, to be very honest, i also have same question if someone can leave me his or her opinion out here, i had blood while i urinated after being operated of appendix. and i had atleast three or four times urinated, i also asked the sister there, but she didn't get any answer.i could not have chance to ask about it to the Surgeon. well it leaves me doubts on why one have blood after having being operated of Appendix.
I can't believe there were no posts in the urology section, crazy. I just realized how long ago this post was. The fact is, my best friend had an appendectomy and has blood in urine now, and severe pain afeb. And I am telling him the same thing. For all the things it can be, blood in urine is a red herring it seems. Of course hes on holiday no where near a Dr so I have to operate via sms. At least I'm back at a computer now, but I have learned nothing new.
I just don't know of any way. Anything is possible, but I would guess either 1) unrelated UTI or 2) Stones or some other condition unrelated and also likely the primary (ie the Apx did not need to come out). But not febrile. It just sounds like your Dr's are on this one. No horror stories for you. Ask the surgeon if the apx was the issue once it was in hand, that is where I'd start. Nothing commonly related that I know of could put blood (or excess protein) in the urea, especially non febrile. But nothing is written in stone; medicine is not a science after all. Medicine is informed by science but clinical practice itself is more like high school manual arts. Good luck.
