Bruised penis

I am a healthy 20 year old male with a circumcised penis.  About a month ago I had a masturbation session where I may have gripped my penis a little too hard.  After I was done, the skin below the crown swelled up a little bit but was still soft.  The swelling went down, but I continued to engage in sexual activity in the following weeks.  Now a month has gone by and the swelling is small but still has not completely subsided.  Should I try and lay off of it for a while? the longest period of time I have had without masturbating or sex is about a week)  Or should I go see a doctor?

I posted the last comment about 17 days ago, and nothing has really changed.  the swelling is still minor but there is definitely something weird going on here.  the area just below the head of the penis is still a little swollen and there are strange mildly discolored areas around the outside.  I'm not sure if there is an accumulation of fluid or what, but I have laid off of it for nearly 3 weeks and nothing has changed.  once again, all penile functions are normal.  Will this take a long time to heal?  Am I ovvereacting simply because its in such a sensitive area of my body?

I went and saw a doctor just to see if I should go to a urologist or not and he seemed to think that it was nothing really to worry about.  The swelling is minor and because penile functions have been normal there seems to be no reason to panic.  Also the reason the swelling may not have gone down all the way is that I did not give it ample time to heal (the longest I went without masturbation or sexual activity was one week).  He prescribed a moisturizer.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
For such swelling on penis, wear cotton undergarments.Application of mild corticosteroid cream and oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a urologist.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
