Bumps on my groin

I went to the doctor because my scotum was red and itched bad.  I have about 100 small bumps on scotum and shaft.  The bumps never change size or pop.   The doctor said it was jock itch.  Ive been using Alcortin for almost 4 weeks.  The itching and red has slowed down alot.  However, the bumps are still there.  Is this really jock itch?

Tough to say without seeing it.  Possibilities would be a fungal infection ("jock itch"), a non-infectious dermatitis, or inflammation or infection of the follicles (folliculitis).  

Evaluation by a dermatologist should be considered for further evaluation - the treatments for each aforementioned disease would differ (i.e. steroid cream for dermatitis, antibiotics for folliculitis, antifungal creams for fungal infections).
