At the age of two, my son had a radical right nephrectomy due to
Wilm's tumor.  At age ten, his remaining kidney has increased in
size (as expected) but his overall growth has slowed since the surgery.
Can the loss of his kidney have anything to do with this?
Are there any other considerations or concerns we should have as a
  result of his condition?
  Thank you in advance.

Thanks Kate for your question.
Removing a kidney does not cause growth retardation per se unless your son has renal failure / insufficiency.  This is unlikely unless his remaining kidney is  diseased.  A blood draw to check his renal function and bicarbonate level  should be able to rule out this unlikely possibility.
More individualized care is available at the Henry Ford Hospital and its satellites (1 800 653 6568). We can also arrange local accommodations through this number if this is your need. Please bring any physicians
