My husband has been suffering from constant testicular pain for the past 7 months. The psychological impact has been severe as we just moved to a new country after getting jobs that we worked hard to get for years. He's going to lose this job due to his inability to work through the pain. I'm so worried because he's expressing suicidal ideology and I don't know how to help. I need to know what we should try next to get him healthy again.
He describes his pain as localized to the epididymis and dull, achy. He says that it's constant but at times it gets a little worse.
Here's what we've done so far and the countries we were in:
1. Ultrasounds (several) both [US, JP]
-showed only some epididymal inflammation and a left-sided varicocele in beginning
-now there is a small hydrocele
2. Short hospital stay and many different antibiotics (what they usually prescribe for epididymitis) [US]
3. MRI, CT Scan, spine x-ray (nothing abnormal) [US]
4. Blood and urine tests (nothing abnormal) [US]
5. Varicocelectomy [JP]
-major swelling immediately after surgery, but 3 weeks later pain went back to normal. same as before
We were hopeful that the varicocele was causing his pain, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. I want him to have his life back, but he is suffering so much from this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
