Complex case: Lymph Node inflammation or Groin Pull ? Cause for inflammation?

by JetFlight, Sep 29, 2008 05:17PM
I' ve been suffering a mild pain about .5 inches up and to the left of the base of my penis for some time now.  I can't really say it's painful. It's more like a pressure. It comes and quickly goes away every couple hours.

I am undergoing auto-therapy for a pelvic muscle injury, but I also discovered today that I'm HSV-1 positive.
Might have been since I was a kid, or not.  Completely different story.

Long story short, I don't know if my lymph nodes are inflamed or a groin pull is causing it.

A couple months back, I did some paragliding, landed badly, and pulled something on my upper left leg/groin area. The area has been VERY tender for months.  In order to gain strength again, I started running on the treadmill, since running on pavement hurt me when I rotate the leg or do jolting movements.

When I felt up to it  a month ago, I started some aerobic and tae-bo.  While attempting a jumping roundhouse kick, I pulled it again.

I'm using a "NOs Blast" drink supplement to work out harder. It has lots of  Creatine and L-Argynine.

Effect on Lymph nodes- Unknown.
Effect on HSV1, possible flare-up instigator...

Both causes seem possible. However, I don't remember having a 1st or severe  HSV-1 outbreak. My genitals are completely rash or blemish free.   What made me suspicious enough to get lab work was previously dismissed by 2 different MDs as a single folicular infection on my upper groin, which is common due to the NO supplement contents.  STD worries made me forget to tell the MD's about this.

Any helpful comments will be appreciated
Thanks

Follow Up:

Original HSV-1 test results from september - 2.9 IGG.
Retested on OCT 29 for almost every possible STD.
NEGATIVE for everything (phew!), except for an INCONCLUSIVE ELISA  HSV-1 result of 1.0.

Is such a low count possible after just 1 mo?

I can only think of 2 things that could've sent the virus into such a drastic remissive state-

1- This is normal behavior?
2-Stopping the use of Argynine (on the NOS supplement) also stopped feeding the virus.

PS: I don't recall ever experiencing a 'typical'  1st outbreak.
