Constant bladder issues

I was on ciprofloxcinin for 1 wk for uti. It was not working so I was prescribed nitrofurantonin and I have taken 3 pills thus far, but this am I woke up and felt very jittery, anxious, chills so I stopped taking it. Did I do the right thing? I am 65 and female. I did drink coffee right after taking pill. Would this affect anything?

Better do not take notrofurantroin. I can cause haemoptisis 9 spittin bood), as it did for mr. Doctors often do not known this side effect, but it happened to me and it still does, two years after discontinuing it

Call your doctor.  If you are having side effects, you did the right thing by stop taking the meds, but you need to talk to your doctor soon.  Also, since the cipro did not work it might be a good idea to get a culture and sensitivity (if possible) to see which meds might work.

it's best to avoid drinks like coffee, soda and alcohol when you have a UTI.
