Cystoscopy

by Hoofs, Sep 21, 2008 01:17PM
I had a cystoscopy that was normal. It was suggested that I might need a cystoscopy under anesthesia with a hydrodistention of the bladder to see if I have IC. I had a cysto left ureteroscopy bladder dilation IC cocktail under general anesthesia because the urologist thought that I might have had a kidney stone but that wasn't the case. I was told a few days after the procedure that everything looked good. Is the cysto bladder dilation IC cocktail basically the same or similar to a cystoscopy under anesthesia with a hydrodistention of the bladder?

I am not sure what is in the IC cocktail, but distending your bladder under anesthesia is one of the tests for IC and also part of the treatment. The ureteroscopy is not related. I assume that the IC cocktail is a combination of several of the drugs that have been found to help IC patients.
