Cysts in prostate
bor
Hello,

During the past 5 years I suffer pelvic pain. Mainly while sitting on a chair or bicycle.
First my urologist diagnosed it a CPPS.
Just recently the urologist discovered cysts in the prostate.

Now I am advised to undergo a TURP.

I am not sure what to do.
Has anyone out there similar experience?

Thanks

Hi

The findings of cysts in the prostate may be contributing to what you are experiencing. Now, there is a focus for your condition. Chronic prostatitis may be considered here. "Although usually no special cause for prostatitis can be found, some conditions may give a higher chance for its development: an enlarged prostate (BPH), or prostatic cysts. In prostatic cysts small spaces filled with prostatic fluid may be found in the prostate, in which bacteria, once they are inside the cyst, can survive despite adequate treatment with antibiotics."

The cysts may need surgical intervention as this may enlarge and may cause further symptoms aside from the fact that this may be a focus of infection.
