Discomfort in my bladder area, no answers...pls help

I have been having a discomfort in my lower bladder area that gets worse for a few days, then better for a while, then comes back again...it's been going on for a couple months.

I would not describe it as pain, but rather and intense uncomfortable feeling like I have to urinate but when I go to the bathroom it only relieves the symptoms slightly a briefly.

I saw my doctor, he felt around on my abdomen and did a UA test which was normal,  but now I don't have any answers.

I do have what was thought to be a hemeroid inside which bulges out as a large mass of flesh when I bear down on the toilet,  and I have had some rectal pain occasionally from that but it is rare that I have the pain and also I go a long time without it coming out.  But I don't know if this would be considered related or not.

Please any ideas or what tests I need?

Hi,

Did your doctor do a urine analysis? It is possible that you have a urinary tract infection.
I have come down with it on a regular basis. Symptoms are burning during urination, frequency and urgency, pain in the lower abdomen and if advanced pain in the lower back.

Just recently I had a problem with a bowel obstruction. Like you I have had problems with hemarhoids which would bulge out while bare down. Over the last few years I noticed that I went from having one or several bowel movements a day to going every 2 to 3 days. I ended up with bloody diarhea and was put on antibiotics to treat a bowel infection. About a couple of days later I noticed that I could not have a bowel movement. After about 4 days, I made a appointment with my doctor and after a short consultation, my wife and I were sent over to the hospital.
Once there I was further examined and X rays were taking showing fecal retention obstruction. I was given several enemas and was sent for a CT scan the next day. No definite obstruction was discovered and I remained in hospital for 8 days and was given numerous enemas as well as oral laxatives. After a few days I was able to pass some stool. It was not untill I had been home for 2 days I had a bowel movement. I'm still using the laxatives today and have noticed that I once again have a bowel movement every 2 to 3 days.

I suggest that you try a laxative like Restoralax and make sure that you have fruit and fiber in your diet. In my case the fecal retention was high up in the bowel. However if there is compacted fecal matter lower down in the rectal area, it would put pressure on the prostate. I have suffered from prostatitis for years.
These are some of the causes that I can think off. With the laxatives you can also use a stool softener. You should not have to strain to have a bowel movement.
I will watch myself for the next few days, if the frequency of bowel movements don't increase I will need to go for medical help again.

A couple of things that I forgot to mention are that I have a neurogenic bladder as well as a neuropathy. The neuropathy can be the cause of the bowel problems.

All the best.
