I have IC and am an IC support group leader too.  Dr.Veena is right, there are many things that can cause these symptoms, you really need to see a urologist!

I would also encourage you to get a referral to a Pelvic Pain Physical Therapist.  My PT, was amazing and found things no one else had.  She was able to tell me my medical history by exam only without looking at my papers!  She also found adhesions that had caused me a lot of pain for many years and was able to break them up manually!  It is amazing to me to have that sharp side pain gone.

There is also a questionnaire on Elmiron website that is helpful to a physician in diagnosing IC. If you would like that website or more info.on IC or help with the bladder pain while your waiting to get to a URO, you can can pm me.

It is in the middle of the night so, please excuse any errors, I got up to take some of my meds before going back to bed and just decided to check in here... I keep falling asleep..

I do hope your feeling better soon!

Hi,
How are you? Frequent urge to urinate, pressure on the bladder and discomfort could be due to infection, over active bladder and non infectious causes like irritation of the bladder(interstitial cystitis, cystitis glandularis).
It could most probably be over active bladder in your case as prolonged labor, obesity, aging, twin pregnancies all can cause this condition. I would suggest that you get a cystoscopy done to rule out other conditions and visit a urologist for further advise on treatment.
Best.
