Early detection vs cystoscopy

Early detection vs cystoscopy

There have been several recent research results
  reported:
  1.  NYU on ABC-TV recently about some new test
which would avoid cystoscopy or follow-up cystoscopy
  after BCG treatments, etc.
  2.  Mt. Sinai School of Medicine report at ACS meeting
on Mar 24 reported in UPI Science News, holds the
enzyme telomerase is more accurate than the currrent
gold standard in detecting bladder cancer at its
  earliest, and most curable stages.
Thanks for any info, and where can one follow up for
  more details?

Dear Gypsy,
The detection of bladder cancers is an ongoing area of investigation. There are many claims and even products on the market but cystoscopy still remains the standard of care with the aid of urine cytologies. The latter is not a substitute as low grade tumors may not be detected by this method.
