Ejaculation from nervousness

by John__0__0, Aug 23, 1998 12:00AM

Hi, about a year ago I have been diagnosed with performance anxiety, but I have one problem associated with it that I think is physical in nature. When I get nervous, my heart starts racing and then I start feeling sensations in my penis as if, Iam about to ejaculate. Sure enough as I get very nervous there comes a point where I do ejaculate, and I'd like to note that as this is happening, my penis is very flaccid. This has been happening to me for a very long time, since 15 I would say, iam now 32. This happens in situations where I get extremely nervous.
You can see how embarrasing this can be when it happens in public, I just have no control over it. I'd like to know if this indeed is a physical problem, and what can I do about it. thank you

Dear John,
I  think your problem, like performance anxiety, is not a physical but rather an emotional problem. You need the care of a sexual therapist (psychiatrist/psychologist/social worker who specializes in treating sexual problems)fits into the category of premature ejaculation. Your physiologic response to nervousness may require medication to reduce the  extent of your anxiety.
